Robbins-Gioia Appoints Bob Floyd as Chief Strategy Officer, Defense and Intelligence Division
October 29, 2007, Alexandria, VA—Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of project management services, announced today the appointment of Brig. Gen. Robert L. Floyd II (U.S. Army, Ret.) as Chief Strategy Officer, Defense and Intelligence Division. In his new position, Bob Floyd will be responsible for the strategic positioning of major defense and intelligence initiatives, with a focus on identifying, enhancing, and implementing the evolving range of services required by Robbins-Gioia’s defense and intelligence constituency. Most recently, Floyd served as Robbins-Gioia’s Director of Business Development for Army, Air Force, and DLA Strategic programs.
Floyd came to Robbins-Gioia from the L-3 Titan Group, where he served as Vice President, Army Strategic Programs. There, he was responsible for the identification and development of Army strategic opportunities. Previously, he was director for logistics solutions at Northrop Grumman, dealing primarily with Department of Defense information technology support. Under his leadership, his line of business implemented Six Sigma methodology and was certified at Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) level 3.
Prior to entering industry, Floyd had a distinguished 29-year Army career. His last military assignment was as Commanding General, U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command, Natick, Massachusetts. Concurrently, he served as Deputy Commanding General of NATO’s Bosnian Theater Multinational Support Command, which comprised 39 countries. Floyd holds master’s degrees in business administration and logistics management from the Florida Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in history and government from Florida State University. He also attended Harvard’s National Security Program.
